Ensuring the safety of individuals aged 65 and above, particularly those residing in rural areas of the U.S., is paramount due to their susceptibility to various physiological challenges. Addressing their travel safety concerns, especially given the unique environmental factors, is crucial. The development of intelligent cars tailored for the elderly represents a promising solution. These vehicles aim to empower individuals aged 65 and above to drive independently, even in remote areas.
problem
The news shows incidents of elderly individuals living in remote areas becoming targets of terrorist attacks are alarmingly frequent. Unfortunately, these vulnerable individuals often face significant challenges in accessing timely and effective assistance when confronted with danger.
design objectives
Given that cars are indispensable for mobility, they serve as a pivotal design focus to address the issue effectively. The product aims to achieve the following objectives:
Enhanced controllability to ensure safer navigation and maneuverability
Improved safety features for better protection of occupants, especially elderly individuals
Enhanced convenience in travel to facilitate smoother journeys for all users
