Research indicates that due to the profound economic challenges across much of Africa, numerous individuals reside in conditions detrimental to their health, particularly in remote regions. The lack of clear delineation of living spaces exacerbates health issues, leading to the widespread transmission of infectious diseases. This initiative, comprising modular building and service designs, aims to improve the living conditions of residents in remote villages, fostering convenience, cleanliness, and overall health.
problem
How can we provide individuals living in remote villages of Africa with structured living spaces that ensure designated sanitation areas, while also enabling them to efficiently and conveniently construct their homes at any time?
design objectives
Enhancing the functionality of the household infrastructure
Ensuring community facilities are user-friendly, facilitating easy construction and relocation
Prioritizing habitat safety and mitigating the spread of germs
USER SCENARIO
These services primarily address daily living needs, focusing on resolving issues related to cleanliness and health. This enables individuals to customize the use and sequence of each area based on their unique circumstances.
While designing the living space service for a remote African area, I specifically experimented with locally sourced materials. This effort aimed to find convenient and sustainable options that are accessible to the local community, ensuring the building is both practical and culturally relevant while minimizing reliance on imported resources.
